What does a window repair in Singapore usually involve?
Most Singapore window repairs replace one worn part on an existing aluminium window — a handle, a lock and keeper, a friction stay, a hinge, sliding rollers, a rubber gasket or a pane of glass — and then realign and test the window. Repairing existing windows is maintenance the flat owner or occupant is responsible for. Installing or replacing a whole window is a separate, regulated category of work.

Repair, or replace the window?
Replacing a whole aluminium window is not simply a bigger repair — it changes who is allowed to do the work. HDB states that installation or replacement of new aluminium windows must be carried out by a BCA-approved window contractor listed in HDB's directory, and that flat owners or occupants are responsible for maintaining existing windows. Full-height windows are treated as a special case rather than a standard online quotation.

What does window repair cover in Singapore?

Replacing the whole window is a separate category with its own contractor requirements.
How do I know which part has failed?
You usually do not need to. Describe what the window is doing — stiff, will not lock, drops, rattles, leaks — and send a full-window photo plus a close-up. That is normally enough to place the fault in the right category and send the case to the right contractor. The final diagnosis is confirmed on site.
Do you repair windows in condos and landed property too?
Yes. The window hardware is broadly the same; what differs is the rules around it. Condos have estate rules and management approvals to work within, and HDB flats have HDB and BCA requirements for replacement work. Tell us the property type in your enquiry.
How quickly can a window repair be arranged?
It depends on urgency and partner availability. Cases flagged as a safety risk — a sash that drops, cracked glass at height, a window that cannot be secured — are prioritised for assignment. Routine repairs are scheduled normally. We do not promise a same-day slot we cannot hold.
Do I need to be at home for the repair?
Yes, an adult needs to be present to give access and to sign off the completed work. If the case needs a measure first — glass, for example — that is a separate short visit before the fitting visit.
