Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to get it back or have it deleted.

This policy explains how WindowRepair.sg handles personal data. The PDPC states that organisations must meet obligations relating to accountability, notification, consent, purpose limitation, accuracy, protection, retention, transfer, access and correction, and breach notification. This policy sets out how we meet each of them.

We do not ask for your NRIC, and you do not need to create an account. Please do not send identity documents, financial details or anything else we have not asked for.

2. Photographs and video

The media you send is the core of the assessment, so it deserves its own section. Photos and video are stored privately, outside the public website, and are never published on this site or anywhere else without separate, specific permission asked for after the job is complete. Where technically possible we remove location metadata from uploaded images. Please crop or avoid capturing anything you do not want shared with the contractor — we only need the window.

3. Why we use it, and nothing else

We use your data to assess the enquiry, assign it to a suitable contractor partner, follow up on the job, handle complaints and warranty issues, and keep our own records of what was done. We also use anonymised and aggregated information — with names, contact details and addresses removed — to publish price guidance and case-study style content. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Who we share it with

  • The assigned contractor partner, and only the one assigned to your job. Your enquiry is not broadcast to a list of contractors.
  • Service providers that host the website, store the media and send messages on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Where required by law, or to protect someone's safety.

Partners agree in writing to use your data only for the assigned job, to protect it, and not to use it for unrelated marketing unless you have separately consented to that.

5. Consent, and taking it back

You give consent for sharing with the assigned partner explicitly on the quote form — it is a separate tick, not buried in a general acceptance. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@windowrepair.sg. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer progress the enquiry, and we will tell you what that affects before acting on it.

6. How long we keep it

DataRetention
Enquiries that did not become a jobDeleted or anonymised once they are no longer needed for follow-up.
Photos and video for enquiries that did not proceedDeleted on the same cycle as the enquiry.
Completed job recordsKept for the warranty period and for as long as required for business, tax and dispute purposes.
Case-study mediaKept only while consent stands; removed if consent is withdrawn.
Anonymised statisticsKept indefinitely — these no longer identify you.

The exact retention periods are set out in our internal retention schedule and are applied automatically rather than by memory.

7. How we protect it

  • The site is served over HTTPS.
  • Customer photos and video are stored outside the public web root and are not publicly reachable.
  • Partners see only the leads assigned to them.
  • Administrative access is role-based and protected by multi-factor authentication.
  • Uploads are checked for file type and size before being accepted.
  • Access to lead records and status changes is logged.
  • Backups are taken and the restore process is tested.

No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in significant harm or is of a significant scale, we will notify the PDPC and affected individuals as required.

8. Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information about how it has been used; ask us to correct anything inaccurate; withdraw consent; or ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep. Email hello@windowrepair.sg with "Data request" in the subject line. We may need to verify who you are before acting, and we will respond within the time required by the PDPA.

9. Cookies and analytics

The site is built to work without tracking cookies. Where analytics are used, they are configured to measure how pages perform rather than to profile individuals, and any cookie notice required by the analytics or marketing tools in use will be shown before those tools set anything.

10. Children

This service is intended for adults arranging repairs to their own or their landlord's property. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the review date below and, where the change affects how we use data you have already given us, contact you.

12. Contact
